12 week programme

Phase 1: (2 weeks)

  • Jishuken Room Set Up and Operations
  • Kick off by University of Kentucky (UK) technical analysis and client team
  • Day 10: Morning - Assignment session / Afternoon - Management Steering Committee report out status

Phase 2: (4 weeks)

  • Client Team works on assignments in Jishuken Room
  • E-mails weekly status (to be communicated through the Blue Role position)
  • 1 hour weekly teleconference between Blue role and UK Technical Analysis Team(TAT) to address issues

Phase 3: (1 week)

  • UK Technical Analysis and Client Team
  • Day 1: Morning - Jishuken Room assignment progress review
  • Day 5: Morning - Assignment session / Afternoon - Management Steering Committee report out status

Phase 4: (4 weeks)

  • Client Team works on assignments in Jishuken Room
  • E-mails weekly status (to be communicated through the Blue Role position)
  • 1 hour weekly teleconference between Blue role and UK TAT to address issues

Phase 5: (1 week)
UK Technical Analysis and Client Team
Day 1: Morning - Jishuken Room assignment progress review
Day 4: Management Steering Committee report out status
Day 5: Executive evaluation and next steps meeting with Client Executive Steering Committee and University Lean Systems Program team

 

 

Jishuken Room Advanced Preparation
  • Collect and copy performance data for the targeted problem areas: Pre-selection based on factual data and rationale
  • Analysis of performance data
  • Identify the leadership team and make a schedule for meetings during the 12 week activity
  • Have physical space reserved with flip charts, paper pads, markers, whiteboard, internet access and telephone line with speaker phone ability

Roles

  • Blue role: To steer department leadership to "raise hand" support activity
  • Brown role: Process and flow study -- ODG activities
  • Purple role: Problem solving & flow study -- ODG activities
